Ms. Carly Simon is a singer and she is also a song writer from America. Born on June 25th, 1945 Carly immediately got fame in the year 1970 and she has also won Golden Globe Award, an academy award, and a Grammy award for her contribution to the music. She is the ex-wife to one of the famous song writer and singer Mr. James. She was born and raised up in New York City, her father was a pianist and her mother was also a singer and a civil rights activist. Ms. Carly has two older sisters and a younger brother- Lucy, Joanna, and Peter. She went to Riverdale Country School.

She started her career in which her sister Lucy gave full assistance. It was the year 1964 when they launched themselves as The Simon Sisters but they didn’t get success. Soon Lucy left as she decided to get married. In the year 1971 she got featured in the movie Taking Off and she sang the song Long Term Physical Effects which was also included for the movie soundtrack. In the same year she launched self-titled album on Elektra Records and soon she launched her next album anticipation.

In the year 1972 she received a major success with her hit single- you are so vain. The single reached to the number one spot on American pop charts and the song was also nominated for the Record of The Year, Best Pop Vocal, and Song of The Year awards. In the year 1973 her single The Right Thing to do was also a minor hit and reached at number 17 on the pop charts. In the year 1975 she launched the best of Carley Simon and in America was a hot seller. In 1976, Ms. Carley gave backup vocals for song Peter for the album Peter Ivers. It was the year of 1977 when she had a huge hit- Nobody Does It Better which is a soundtrack for the James Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me.
