Carly Simon Biography
In the 1970s Carly Simon emerged as one of the famous song writer and singer. Her father Mr. Richard Simon was the founder of Simon a Schuster Publishing Company. She made a start of her music career with her sister Lucy. In the year 1964 The Simon Sisters did a chart single with Nod and in 1971 she released her self titled album. Her second album Anticipation went gold in two years and in the same she won Grammy award for the Best New Artist. Her third album was produced by Mr. Richard which has the number one hit- You’re So Vain.
A second single from the album- “The Right Thing to Do” went to the Top 40. In 1972 she married Mr. James Taylor but unfortunately got divorced in 1983. Her fourth album has a remake of Mockingbird. Her next album which came in June 1976- Another Passenger was a big disappointment but in the year 1977 she did a song for the James Bond movie which was a major hit. Next album was Boys in the Trees which came in April 1978 and was a huge success. Her next two albums Spy which came in 1979 and Come Upstairs in 1980 were not that successful. But Come Upstairs have a hit called Jesse.
It was in the year 1980 that she collapsed on stage due to exhaustion and further she reduced her stage performances. In the year 1982 she gave a hit called “Why” which was produced by Chic (a disco group from movie Soup for One). In America Ms. Carley’s career was towards decline as her album Hello Big Man which came in September 1983 and Spoiled Girl which came in July 1985 also were not successful. In the year 1986 she did a movie theme “Come Around Again” and “Let the River Run”. In spring of 2000 Ms. Carley made a comeback with her unique material in six years, The Bedroom Tapes. In the year 2002 she launched Christmas is Almost Here which has a collection of holiday theme. In the year 2008, Ms. Carley signed with Hear Music and then came with This Kind of Love.
